Youth ages 14 to 24 receive tutoring, mentoring, paid and unpaid work experiences and occupational training that leads to certificates in home health care and industrial technician roles, funded in part by YouthBuild and the Arkansas PROMISE Grant.
These offerings operate through the certified comprehensive center at the Little Rock Workforce Center. Residents who qualify can pursue credentials without upfront tuition costs at participating providers.
Employer services and their reach
Employers receive zero-cost assistance that includes a skilled worker pipeline, Work Opportunity Tax Credit incentives and labor market information on occupational projections. In June 2022 the board received a $2 million Department of Labor grant for the Rock City Reentry Program, which runs through December 31, 2025, to train and place adults returning after incarceration.
